REQUIREMENTS
- TX driver license and a decent driving record are a must. We care about safety here.
- Social security card.
- At least a high school diploma, a GED, or some kind of equivalent.
- Pass a criminal/background check. We’re an innocent bunch!
- Employment recommendation. A good one of course!
- Good written and verbal English communication skills.
- Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds.
And now for the fun part
- Serve as an example our family can look up to!
- Be their favorite role model and their trusted advocate!
- Make sure that they are included in all of our awesome community activities.
- Encourage them to be social and have fun!
- Teach them to grow and love the life they live.
- Then get off work at the end of the day, go home and stare at yourself in the mirror. Smile and say “I made a difference, had a blast, AND got PAID!
JOB DUTIES
- Direct, teach, document & provide personal assistance with activities of daily living.
- Make sure everyone enjoys their meals and help them prepare them safely and with consideration to sanitation!
- Secure and/or provide transportation.
- Assistance with housekeeping.
- Assistance with ambulation and mobility.
- Reinforce counseling and therapy activities.
- Assist with medications and pay attention to health care needs continuously. Keep our loving family healthy!
- Supervise consumer safety and security.
- Ensure compliance with CALAB inc, policies, and with Waiver & ICF-IID standards (don’t worry, we’ll teach them to you!)
- Accurately complete all necessary documentation.
- Be comfortable communicating needs to a supervisor (we want you to have a positive experience working with CALAB and we want you to feel comfortable asking us for help!)
- Supervise age appropriate, neat, clean attire for our family members. (Keep them looking appropriately stylish and wearing the things they love!)
